Saint Tropez - the small fishing village made famous by Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s - hosts the 8th Voiles de Saint Tropez regattas this week. Both modern and classic yachts come to St Tropez for this event.
Photos from the event start here and will be added to…
Wednesday update: Regattas cancelled because of too much wind (!) so I concentrated my lens on the smaller details of the classic yachts. I've now had a go answering the quiz I set yesterday - i.e. which yachts are in the picture below. They are the distinctive and decorative carved or painted arrow ends, reeds or finials that finish the line that runs along the hulls of classic yachts. So far from left :

Yacht name: Mari-Cha IV -> Senso One
Formerly: Mari-Cha IV
Length: 138 ft • 42 m
Oct 2006: In October 2003, Mari-Cha IV created sailing history on its maiden voyage, sailing from New York to the UK in just over 6 days. It smashed the transatlantic record by 2 days and established itself as the world's fastest yacht. Here she is at the Voiles de Saint Tropez 2006, which started today and runs all week.
