Pari

Yacht name: Pari
Length: 130 ft • 39 m
Year: 1989
Builder: Alucraft • Dell'Argentario
Design: Vicenzo Ruggiero • Refit: Espen Øino

20 June 2009: Activity around Pari. A containment barrier has been placed around her and hull inspections appear to be taking place.
2 June 2009: Pari ran aground off St Jean Cap Ferrat, on Saturday 30th May, dragged on to the rocks at anchor by heavy winds during the night. Attempts to refloat her have been halted until an inspection of her hull has been undertaken. No one was reported injured.
As can be seen from the photos above, she has now been tethered to the rocks with some floatation devices at her bow and stern - or perhaps those are fuel containment barriers? No fuel was visible in the surrounding area.
The magnificent villa La Fleur Du Cap, that overlooks the waterfront, used to belong to Charlie Chaplin, then was owned by David Niven until his death in 1983.
Below, Pari last year in Cannes, in better times.

The aluminium-hulled Silver is the latest megayacht to be built in Western Australia. She is the world's largest aluminium yacht . Her design includes a low profile for improved speed and fuel efficiency and a shallow draft, which provides greater coastal access and a highly responsive helm. She is destined for the charter market and will accommodate 18 guests.
Hanseatic Marine are currently building another 73 m sistership, MY Fangio, for delivery in 2009, and are working on a 90 m concept with Oeino.

Fincantieri • Hull 6154
09 May 2008 16:53
Yacht name: Fincantieri Hull 6154
Length: 440 ft • 134 m
Year: 2010
Builder: Fincantieri Yachts • Benetti
Design: Espen Øino
Work started in 2007 on Hull # 6154, which is scheduled for delivery in 2010. Billed as the most technically advanced and most elegant megayacht being built to date, and designed by Espen Øino, with seven decks and a length of 134 m, Hull 6154 will be one of the largest yachts ever built. It is being built for a Russian client "apparently", but not Roman Abramovich, in the Muggiano yard, in La Spezia.
Fincantieri are more known for building military vessels - recently they launched the 244m Cavour Aircraft Carrier, for the Italian Navy - so this foray into the yacht market is a major step for them. While Fincantieri will be responsible for the major structural work, it is expected that Benetti will use their expertise in the finishing.

From the colour scheme you'll immediately recognise this as the tender/companion to Mexican megayacht Princess Mariana. Although the colours on the mother ship are not to everyone's liking, I think they really work on Moon Goddess. Mr Øino has designed a real jewel in this custom build from Danish Yacht, which is constructed from Kevlar, carbon fibre and epoxy, and was delivered in October 2006.
