The aluminium-hulled Silver is the latest megayacht to be built in Western Australia. She is the world's largest aluminium yacht . Her design includes a low profile for improved speed and fuel efficiency and a shallow draft, which provides greater coastal access and a highly responsive helm. She is destined for the charter market and will accommodate 18 guests.
Hanseatic Marine are currently building another 73 m sistership, MY Fangio, for delivery in 2009, and are working on a 90 m concept with Oeino.

The elegant Nero was launched in 2007 in Yantai, China. She shares some similarities with JP Morgan's famous Corsair IV, the largest US-built yacht (wrecked in 1949), in her length and general layout. A superbly executed retro design !

Oct 2007: Launched only two months ago, Space, the first Feadship F45 Vantage, arrived in Port Hercule today. Her clean lines and good interior volumes, will, I think, make for a sure-fire winner in the increasingly crowded 45m semi-custom segment. Judge for yourself from the photos taken this afternoon.
Space will be presented by Feadship at the 2007 Monaco Yacht Show.

This is the first build for Monaco Yachting & Technologies, a new custom ship builder. They have three more hulls under construction in Italy, two 73 m yachts and one 50 m. (Thx to Merijn for the research).

2007: Aviva is another of this year's fine major launches, this time from Abeking & Rasmussen. She left the Lemwerder yard in Germany in May 2007. Seen here yesterday on her maiden cruise to the Med, in St Tropez. The port was heaving with dozens of Mangustas, Leopards and ISAs for the annual Rodriguez Group show.
Aviva has an unusual "knife" bow, which allows for a larger superstructure and internal volume, and greater speed and fuel efficiencies.

This little beauty, from UK based XSMG, was sprinting around Monegasque waters yesterday evening. The XRS48 comes in a variety of engine configurations. The Race Spec 2 x 2000 hp diesels can reach top speeds of 85 knots.
The 2400 hp petrol V8 option is even faster and will take you to 95 knots (110 mph - 175 kph) !! - but is not available in Europe due to emissions regulations. Edmiston is showing them off - prices start at £1m - $2m.
The XSR48 will be at the 2007 Monaco Yacht Show in September, in the tender section. XSMG are also trying to set speed records for London - Monaco and London - St Petersburg. There will be plenty of fuel stops on the way as the range, at 50 knots cruising speed, is 300 nautical miles.

Ferdy is the latest yacht built by Codecasa and launched earlier in 2007. It marks the 50th yacht over 80 ft built by Codecasa since 1970. The horns went crazy in Port Hercule when AC Milan beat Liverpool 2:1 in the Champions League final on Wednesday !!
