March 2007

A new hard drive and new photo management software
allowed monacoeye to continue a back office spring
clean in March, throwing up many previously
unpublished photos.
Annaliesse was sold to a Middle Eastern buyer and renamed Delma. I took the opportunity to overhaul records for Delma and Alysia and uploaded dozens of new photos. These were published in two formats: regular and widescreen, with a contact sheet for each format, in order to cater to the wide variety of connection speeds and screen sizes out there. The same dual-size approach was used for a large album of Atlantis II photos. The link to the two formats is at the bottom of the corresponding photo page.
I started including builds under construction - greyed out together with decommissioned yachts - in the Big List. 2007 may well turn out to be a mega year for megayachts with many very significant new builds slated for delivery. It's a lot of work trying to keep up with the latest rumours so any press releases or news from builders or spotters is always welcome. Send as always to monacoyachts@gmail.com.
In this vein I showed some photos of models of CRN's line up as displayed at last year's yacht show, including GiVi which was launched last year, and was last spotted in Italy.
Monaco was visited by O'mega (still here), Blue Dawn, RM Elegant and TJ Esperanza, the new name for Thunder Gulch. Bob Paylor sent in a great photo of Coral Island as well as many others including Kelly Sea, B2, Lady Ecosse, Bayou, Blue Moon, Martha Ann and Endless Summer from St Barths.
From the back catague I added new photos of the ISA 133's Samja, Alfa XII and MJ Taknm. Also a big batch of new and old yachts with traditional styles: Lady Duvera, Amber Sea, Salee, Sunbird, Fair Play I and II, Acacia, South Paw C, Sheergold, Spada, Moon Dance and Lady May.
I updated the Bagliettos Annamia, Blue Eyes and Blue Scorpion, padded out the Heesen entry with Calaf, Harbour Moon & Lionshare, added CRN's All Seven and Ava, and Delta Marines Thirteen and CV-9. Kaleido Beau and Tajin were also added.
Two Frank Mulder designs - The World is Not Enough and Impulsive - were improved upon, though I need confirmation that my photo is indeed of Impulsive and not a sistership. I also recovered some nice photos of Thunder B from 2005 and redid the Issham al Baher entry.
All these and more can be found in the March archive or the Alphabetical Index.
